I can’t believe that it’s been THIS long since we last connected, or at least caught up with each other on the actual blog. I’ve missed you all, I promise I have!
As busy, glam-and-beauty obsessed moms, we know first-hand that as much as we think we can plan our lives out, our worlds just aren’t set up like that. Let me explain MY WHY: For those moms who have been keeping up with us on social, you know how much I prioritize my son, and so the past year has really kept me busy as he got adjusted to the whole “school thing.” Yes, I had him in pre-school, but mommies let me tell you, his Kindergarten year was a whole new ball game! It whipped him, my husband and me, but in the end, it made us even stronger. (More on that in a future post ladies.) And then, there was my career, my quest to a a more fit lifestyle (the 5:30 am wake up times for gym continue to whip me!) and just the overall demands of being a married career mom— add to that the joys and stresses of being a daughter, sister and granddaughter, and you get where I’m going with this! Honestly, to say that I was all over the place, would be an understatement. It’s a wonder that I was even able to keep up with my beauty routine!
But, as much as I was going through, there were just way too many times that I kept thinking about my other baby (BlackGlamourMom). I mean, I birthed this baby even before Jordan was born six years ago. I had put so much into creating this platform where I could highlight us as black moms, the ones that happened to be fashion-and-beauty-obsessed, but still had more to us than that; meaning goals, mad hustle and overall life aspirations. I knew that my “why” behind creating this space was much bigger and that this was just one of the many gifts that I had to deliver. I knew, there wasn’t any other person to fill these shoes, but me. And so, we’re back!
Of course, I’m not the same mommy that I was six years ago when I originally created this blog, so what you will get from me and my team is a tad bit different, because, well, I’ve evolved and am in an even more different space as a mom. What remains is my obsession with all things fashion and beauty-related and my desire to create content that celebrates us as black moms and helps us to reach our life aspirations all while rocking it out in one of our most important roles: mothers.
My Promise To You:
You will find fresh, fun content, at least two X’s a week on the blog.
Our social channels will stay motivating, and of course, glam.
We will introduce you to some of our favorite moms—We’ve got mad stories to tell and women to celebrate.
We will honor and help to elevate you on your journey through motherhood.
I’m looking forward to this new journey together and I THANK YOU in advance for joining us! Please let us know what you think and also reach out with stories that you would like us to share.
