Ready, Set, Go–2014 Promises To Be An Exciting Year For BlackGlamourMom
Happy New Year Glams!
Today is the first Monday of the New Year so it’s only right that we also jump back in the mix with our first post of the year. Our apologies ladies for taking a few days off, but we’re sure you get it, we needed to stop, reflect, renew and recharge our glam motors as we embark on 2014.
With that said, I would be remiss to not make mention of 2013 as this was an amazing year. We officially birthed BlackGlamourMom.com on Mother’s Day last year and since then we have organically grown the site to include readers from all over the country.
Outside of the site being born, there were so many other phenomenal things that happened in 2013. My son learned to both crawl and walk; I was featured on BlackEnterprise.com thanks to the amazing writer Kimberly Wilson; My son traveled with me on trips to LA, New Orleans, New York and Chicago; We embarked on our first family road trip; I mastered the art of working from home and continuing to be effective in my career; My husband and I celebrated three years of marriage and are still standing strong as one unit despite life’s ups and downs. My mother, who is my heartbeat, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite this being a major shocker, my mother is such a fighter and successfully underwent surgery and is now getting ready to start radiation treatment. I can promise you that we are going to continue to kick this disease called cancer in the rear end this year. I’m telling you ladies, I could go on and on!

As I look back on the past year and how BlackGlamourMom has grown, I get super excited just thinking about what we have in store for you, our readers, in 2014. When I set off to create this baby I knew what I had in mind and I also knew what I wanted to share with you. To be honest, I knew that this was something that was needed and I knew that I was just the person to develop and bring the idea to life. As we embark on 2014 you can expect to see BlackGlamourMom turning it all the way up. Side Note: The speed and evolution of this site was all very calculated. As we plan out our stories for this year you can expect to see a lot more articles that focus on parenting as well as those stories that will help keep you informed on the latest in beauty, fashion, celeb news, baby products and pop-culture. You all can also expect to see more images of my personal style and me in the New Year, as I’m sure you want to see glimpses of how I keep my personal glam factor going. In addition, this year we will be launching a number of Black Glamour Mom events in select cities throughout the country as well as giving you each a chance to rock some Black Glamour Mom products this year. Oh yeah, we have tons up our sleeves or should I say tucked inside of our diaper bag!
I’m a writer, so of course I tend to write almost everything down. Every year I write down my goals for the year and check back in six months into the year to see where I am on my goal chart. This year, one of my goals is to take BlackGlamourMom to NEXT and I can assure you that this is one goal that will be achieved. It will be a journey, but one filled with fun and plenty of glam!
