So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted content on the blog and I have to admit, I feel some kind of way about it. Please, let me explain. You see, my life outside of the blog started to take over and before I knew it days turned into weeks and weeks turned into a little over a month.
My life over the past few weeks has been extremely hectic. From adjusting to a pretty demanding marketing role in a new company to navigating the realities of family members growing older, life has been super busy for me over the past month. Of course, my life as mommy to my son Jordan never stops and that in itself has been a continuous whirlwind of sheer joy and an unwavering desire to balance it all.
In between all of life’s happenings, I’ve celebrated both my own and my son’s third birthday, test drove a new hairstyle (Yes, I rocked a bone straight do for my birthday!) and started to think a lot more about my ultimate goals in life and where I want to be in the next year. To say that life has gotten super real on my end would be an understatement.
Through all that’s been going on, I think what I’ve learned most was that as moms, and women in general, we have to take time out to recharge. To be perfectly honest I was starting to feel really burnt out. My super crazy schedule and all of the demands that come with being a #blackglamourmom were really starting to get the best of me. So with that, I decided to take a break for a while. I gave myself time to really enjoy the rest of my summer and to not feel the pressure to keep up with all that my schedule was used to. This need for a break included taking a little time away from the blog. What I can tell you is that this re-charge has left me feeling so motivated and ready to grow in a way that I can’t explain.
As I work to carve out phase two of the BlackGlamourMom brand, I can do so knowing that I am designing from a much clearer, energized point of view. Glams, get ready! The glam is getting ready to go into overdrive.
So Glams, are you feeling the burn? Are you in need of a recharge? We want to hear from you in the comments section below.
