Glams,
Can you believe that it’s already February? If you’re anything like me, then you probably can’t as it seems like it was just the other day that I was cranking out my New Year’s Day Post.
February is actually one of my favorite months of the year. I know you’re probably thinking I’m crazy as it is clearly in the dead of winter, however I usually have a ton of excitement going on during the month. For starters, my husband’s birthday is in February, which is always a fun time and then of course there’s Valentine’s Day, which has always brought lots of joy and nice gifts my way! Outside of these reasons, I have also always loved to celebrate Black History Month, although I clearly celebrate our history 365 days of the year.
In celebration of Black History Month, we over at BlackGlamourMom will be shining a spotlight on some of our favorite “ BlackGlamourMoms” throughout the month of February. We are calling them our “Power Moms.” These women, both new and old school, known and unknown, are movers and shakers and do it all while balancing the joys of motherhood. They are what we like to call powerful and we are excited to celebrate them.
We hope that you enjoy the list just as much as we’ve enjoyed compiling it and we encourage you to stay tuned throughout the month as we reveal our First Annual “BlackGlamourMom Power Mom List.” Not only are we celebrating but we also are hoping to motivate!

First Up: Diana Ross
There would be no swooning over Tracee Ellis Ross and all of her glammed out style without her mother Diana Ross. That alone makes Diana Ross one of our top picks for the 2015 BlackGlamourMom Power Mom List. As a Glam-Mommy blog, we get tons of inspiration from Ms. Ross and have a major appreciation for how she balanced being a mom with her fabulous career and exceptional looks.
Why We Love Her: She created the perfect formula of what it meant to be a glam, career-driven mom. I mean c’mon glams, she is an icon!
Fun Fact: Her daughter Tracee Ellis Ross recently dished to the New York Times that her mom was really real. “I grew up with a mother who had babies crawling on her head and spitting up on her when she was wearing gorgeous, expensive things, and it was never an issue.”

Glams, we want to hear from you! What do you think of our first PowerMom? What do you love about her most? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section and be sure to share your own picks on Instagram using the hashtags #blackglamourmom #BGMPowerList
