Whether you’ve been forced to drop your little one off at preschool before 8 a.m. due to a 9 a.m. Monday morning meeting or decided to take a much-needed weekend getaway minus the kiddies, us moms have all dealt with #MomGuilt. My guilt typically kicks into high gear either when I have business travel, or when I’m unable to either take or pick my son up from school due to a number of reasons, but more often than not, the inability to wrap up a meeting at the planned time. Those have and continue to be my two biggest triggers!
Despite the fact that I’m still dealing with #MomGuilt, I’ve at least carved out and embraced some “universal truths” that have helped me deal with the times where I’ve felt guilty for being a “career mom,” guilty for going out for an evening of cocktails with my other half or even guilty for deciding to cuddle up and read a magazine instead of sitting on my family room floor for hours playing cars and trucks with my son.
